Natural Resources Canada
Natural Resources Canada supports Canadian hydrogen and fuel cell demonstration and deployment projects through Government of Canada funding initiatives such as the previous Canadian Transportation Fuel Cell Alliance (CTFCA) and the current ecoEnergy Technology Initiative.
The original concept of the Hydrogen Highway in British Columbia is credited to the CTFCA. In addition to funding and project management, working groups collaborate and liaise with the Hydrogen Highway on codes and standards, mobile applications and fuelling station development, as well as the communications and information needed to advance the industry.
Western Economic Diversification Canada
Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) is a department in the Government of Canada which has responsibility for promoting the development and diversification of the economy of Western Canada. It was established in 1987 under the provision of the Western Economic Diversification Act. Together, these priorities create a foundation to build the prosperity and competitiveness of the West in the 21st century.
Sustainable Development Technology Canada
Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) is a not-for-profit foundation that finances and supports the development and demonstration of clean technologies which provide solutions to issues of climate change, clean air, water quality and soil, and which deliver economic, environmental and health benefits to Canadians.
SDTC operates two funds aimed at the development and demonstration of innovative technological solutions. The $550 million SD Tech Fund™ supports projects that address climate change, air quality, clean water, and clean soil.
